I have spent my entire working life in the frontline of our business and it has given me great pleasure to witness our growth from humble beginnings to the current global reach of this dynamic Group.

In looking back, I realise that my father's approach to business laid part of the foundation for this growth and I will always be grateful to him for the guidance he provided. I, in turn, have been required to transfer these skills to my five sons and the other key leaders of Louis Group.

Recognising potential has been one of the significant challenges of my role, the reason being that when you have so many talented professionals, you need to know to whom to pass which baton. I have had to manage this delicate balancing act of recent years and it is a role I cherish within the Group.

The family values that my wife and I have been able to uphold over the years, have filtered down through to our sons and the Group's staff who utilise these principles in their business dealings with our clients.

I continually remind my staff that one's reputation is a valuable asset taking time to establish and worth preserving.

I believe one must fuel one's dreams and desires to include the interests of others, to foster good relations with them and, where possible, to support and encourage the creation of wealth for generations to come.

So, to demonstrate this:

• We invest our own personal funds together with those of our chosen investors in projects we carefully select. This provides our partner investors with the comfort of knowing that a family enterprise is attentive to their interests at all times;
  
  
• We wholeheartedly commit to empowering marginalised individuals and businesses and continue to partner with organisations serving these communities in an array of exciting ventures; and
  
  
• We ascribe to the philosophy of wealth creation for all stakeholders - which includes future generations.
  
  

We appreciate our many long-standing relationships which have truly been of mutual benefit to both parties. I look forward to building new like-minded relationships as we continue to trust God to sustain us as we grow.
