Louis Group's Business Academy, an internationally accredited, wholly-sponsored business programme is run in association with the University of Stellenbosch Business School and is built on the principle of 'Learning through Discovery'.
This six-month business tuition programme, which was established in 2003, offers learners both the knowledge and practical experience gained through the Group's nine decades of business growth. The focus of the Academy is on equipping individuals to start and manage their own business or to work more effectively within their current roles. Close to 2,000 students have already graduated from the programme.
Komsberg Farming offers an all-inclusive crèche facility which takes care of the many children of the more than 1,000 employees on the farm. The crèche provides employees with peace of mind regarding the safety, nutritional needs and well being of their children while they focus on the functions of this rapidly developing farm.
Louis Group sponsors the Graceland Pre-School and crèche, which was established by the Thembalitsha Foundation with the aim of enabling children to reach their full potential. The school, which is opposite the Group-owned Devon Valley Hotel in Stellenbosch, serves the needs of the community and each year it prepares about 45 children, between the ages 18 months to 5 years, for main stream schooling. The Devon Valley Hotel also partners with the school through an initiative called the "Giving Room", whereby 10% of the proceeds of one of the rooms in the hotel is contributed to support the needs of the school.
The Group sponsors countless initiatives globally, with special regard given to charities and church organisations for the elderly, lost children, cancer victims and education initiatives.
SOCIAL INVESTMENT
