Louis Group has partnered with the Thembalitsha Foundation since its establishment and provides a variety of resources including financial support, administrative assistance and advisory services. Thembalitsha, meaning “new hope”, focuses on social development by helping people to help themselves. Instead of creating dependency on hand-outs, the foundation provides education and training opportunities that encourage people to take the initiative and use their own abilities and talents. The projects supported by the foundation include: Siyazama Pre-school, Graceland Pre-primary School, The School of Hope, ThembaCare and the Micro MBA. The aim is to assist previously disadvantaged individuals by teaching them to be responsible, and equipping them so that they willingly contribute to their communities and to the economic and social well being of South Africa.
